Disaster Relief Contribution

Ebola Outbreak in Sierra Leone

Keep the Church in Sierra Leone in prayer. The recent outbreak of the Ebola Virus in West Africa has appeared in eastern provinces of that country where 700 of our brothers and sisters are at risk and 27 have already lost their lives. Over $10,000 of the CoG7 Disaster Relief Fund (DRF) were sent to Sierra Leone in July. Hundreds of new people are attending our Sabbath services in this mostly-Muslim country as many look for hope and see the Church stepping forward to make a difference.

This need in Sierra Leone is great. We request that General Conference Churches in the USA and Canada receive an offering designated for “Disaster Relief Fund.” These funds will enable the Church in Sierra Leone to transport the sick, to provide sanitizing agents and food that reduces risk of infection, and to support medical workers who help monitor the members and their villages. Funds will also purchase motorbikes for the Church to educate and mobilize a larger number of people to take proper, urgent action as the disease spreads.

We pray for the Lord’s divine intervention for his people and for the many others in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone who now confront this deadly disease without Christ. Today and this month, we ask that offerings be sent to “Disaster Relief Fund.” Thank you for prayers and for standing with our Church brethren in Sierra Leone during this great trial.

The Disaster Relief Fund is managed by the General Conference and its GC Missions ministry. You may contribute online using the form below, call us, or mail us at the phone number and address on the contact page.
